Season 7 has been packed with unforgettable moments and surprising outcomes so far, as the conditions on track and team energy management prove to be decisive. As it stands, the Mercedes-EQ Formula E Team are heading into Round 10 at the top of the Team standings, but just five points separate the top three teams! Drivers Nyck de Vries and Stoffel Vandoorne are currently sixth and seventh in the Drivers’ Standings respectively, but once again, just 22 points separate the top 10 drivers meaning anything could happen in the final three double-headers of the season.

Ahead of the weekend’s action, Nyck de Vries spoke of his feelings towards the new race location: “I hope that this New York weekend will favour us more, that we’ll be able to deliver two strong races and come away with a good haul of points”. Adopting a similar attitude and outlook, his teammate Stoffel Vandoorne discussed how the Team has so far performed this season and expectations ahead of the back-to-back races: “We’ve shown that we’ve got a competitive car and package. We’ll be contenders if we can put all the pieces together. As you would expect, the target is to try and score as many points as possible in New York this weekend.”

It will be Mercedes-EQ Formula E Team’s first-time racing on the streets of New York, but the fourth time the FIA ABB Formula E Championship has appeared in Brooklyn. With so far five different winners across six different races held in the city, all bets are on as to who will come home victorious. The circuit is 2.32km, through the streets in the district of Red Hook, with 14 turns and an all-new Attack Mode activation zone. With rain currently forecast on the radar and 85% humidity on the horizon, we should once again see the ever-changing track conditions as pivotal to race outcomes.
